Who We Are
Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that aims to equip and empower young women in middle and high school with the tools and support to pursue their God-given purpose in the marketplace and their communities. Our initiatives include college tours, company site visits, and professional development workshops, which provide these young women with the critical skills and knowledge needed for academic and career success.

We believe girls from under-resourced communities have an untapped source of strength, ideas, and potential. Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. intends to unearth this greatness by bringing them to environments where they can re-imagine their futures.
Who We Serve
Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. (YMI) serves young women of color aged 14-18 in Essex, Passaic, and Bergen counties, NJ. Our group of 25 participants is primarily African American (80%), with 75% from low-income households and 65% poised to be first-generation college students. These demographics highlight our focus on communities facing systemic barriers, violence, and poverty.
YMI aims to break the cycle of poverty by empowering these girls with the skills and confidence for success. We provide mentorship, life skills training, and positive youth development, addressing their unique challenges.

Corporate Partnerships
YMI actively engages in strategic collaborations with various Fortune 500 companies and local businesses, leveraging diverse thinking and innovative problem-solving approaches to empower our participants. We work alongside Corporate Social Responsibility department to curate fun and innovative skills-based workshops.

Community Collaboration
YMI unifies with local youth-serving organizations to share youth development resources. We've increased our participant base by leveraging relationships with social services programs, affordable housing, family shelters, mental health facilities, schools, sports programs, churches, and simple word of mouth. YMI has created a supportive ecosystem that equips young people with the necessary skills, confidence, and opportunities to thrive in their professional journeys, ultimately contributing to the overall growth and success of the youth community.

YMI’s targeted interventions effectively bridge the gap to higher education and more rewarding careers. By doing so, we break the cycle of underrepresentation in higher-earning fields and harness the potential of these young women, promoting both individual empowerment and broader societal progress.
