About Us
The "Found-Her"
Shanita Perdomo is a proud Oakland, CA native who left the Bay Area to pursue a career as a social worker on the East Coast. Shanita noticed a pattern amongst her female clients. The high school girls who lacked positive mentorship and career guidance would later become pregnant, involved in criminal activity, or homeless. Shanita realized the foster care and school systems weren’t doing enough to create effective and informative career exposure for underprivileged girls and young women.

In May 2021, Shanita founded Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc., a 501c3 college and career awareness nonprofit for underserved and under-resourced high school girls in New Jersey. In a world full of "no's" and "maybe so's"- Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. motivates high school girls to say YES to the possibilities!

We believe girls from under-resourced communities have an untapped source of strength, ideas, and potential. Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. intends to unearth this greatness by bringing them to environments where they can reimagine their futures.
Who We Serve
In a world full of "no's" and "maybe so's"- Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. motivates high school girls to say YES to the possibilities!
Young women from under-resourced communities have an untapped source of strength, ideas, and potential. Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. intends to unearth the greatness these young women possess by taking them to places where they can reimagine their future.
We achieve this by partnering with colleges and companies in the Tri-State area to facilitate "experiential learning" tours. During college tours, participants enjoy campuses, meet current students, and ponder whether the college is a cultural fit for them. Company visits allow participants to learn about different professions and work environments- helping them make an informed decision about their major or future career interest.
