WHO CAN JOIN THE SKILL BUILDHER NETWORK?
Professionals anywhere in the U.S. can join the Network and become part of the Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. community and our mission to connect girls with professionals, industries, and career opportunities.
HOW DOES THE SKILL BUILDHER NETWORK WORK?
Join the Network and receive opportunities to participate in upcoming Skill BuildHER experiences. Choose the events that interest you and fit your schedule. Once you choose an event, we’ll add you to the calendar invite with everything you need to know.
DO I HAVE TO COMMIT TO EVERY EVENT?
No. Participate once or stay involved throughout the year. Choose as many experiences as you’d like as opportunities become available.
CAN I PARTICIPATE VIRTUALLY?
Yes. Professionals anywhere in the U.S. can participate virtually. You can also participate in in-person events happening in your local area.
WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF JOINING THE NETWORK?
You’ll help girls build social capital by connecting them with professionals across industries, careers, and backgrounds. Every conversation gives girls more information, perspectives, and relationships to consider as they make informed decisions about their future.
HOW MUCH PREPARATION IS REQUIRED?
Minimal. Once you select an event, we’ll send you the calendar invite, event details, and Volunteer Guide with everything you need to participate.
IS THERE A DONATION TO PARTICIPATE?
Yes. A tax-deductible donation is requested for Skill BuildHER events to help cover the cost of delivering each experience. You’ll receive a tax-deductible receipt.
CAN MY COMPANY SPONSOR MY PARTICIPATION?
Absolutely. Skill BuildHER is a great opportunity to use your company’s employee engagement, volunteer, or community impact resources to support your participation.
CAN I EARN VOLUNTEER HOURS?
Yes. Skill BuildHER participation may qualify for volunteer hours through your employer. Check with your company for its volunteer-hour requirements.
CAN I BRING MY COWORKERS OR ERG?
Absolutely. Bring your coworkers, ERG, or professional network. We can also customize a Skill BuildHER experience around your company’s goals, employees, and areas of expertise. Visit our Companies page to learn more about activating your company.
CAN MY COMPANY MATCH MY DONATION?
We encourage all Skill BuildHER Network members to list Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. as their nonprofit of choice through their company’s giving or matching platform. We currently accept donations through platforms including Benevity, Blackbaud, and PayPal Giving.
