You already have what you need. You are knowledgeable in your field, and your lived experience is valuable. That’s what girls want to hear.
 

HOW MANY PROFESSIONALS CAN PARTICIPATE?

Bring 5 volunteers, 25, 50, or even 100+. If one person wants to represent your company, that works too.

Whether you have a small group of employees or a large team ready to show up, we’ll customize the experience to make sure everyone has a meaningful role.
 

WHEN CAN WE HOST A SKILL BUILDHER™?

Skill BuildHER™ experiences are available Monday through Friday during school and after-school hours throughout the year. Select Saturday experiences may also be available.

For in-person experiences, lunch is included for participating students and professionals.
 

WHO ARE THE STUDENTS?

Skill BuildHER™ primarily serves girls in 8th–12th grade and early college young women from communities that are often underrepresented in professional spaces.

We started in New Jersey, and we’re expanding across the United States to reach students who need this programming the most. Our goal is simple: give girls access to professional relationships, real-world experiences, and social capital that can expand what they see as possible for themselves.
 

HOW MUCH PREPARATION IS REQUIRED FROM OUR PROFESSIONALS?

You already have it in you.

You are knowledgeable in your field. You have experiences worth sharing. You’ve learned lessons that a young person can benefit from hearing.

We’ll give you the information you need to feel prepared and confident, but you do not need to create a curriculum or become an expert in youth programming.

Come as you are. Share what you know. Be willing to connect.
 

WHAT DOES YES, M.I.S.S. INC. HANDLE?

Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. manages the planning behind the experience, including:

• Matching your company with a school or youth-serving organization that aligns with the students you want to serve

• Coordinating the event and keeping your volunteers informed

• Creating and preparing volunteer and student materials

• Providing event facilitation and on-site coordination

• Managing the student experience from start to finish

• Collecting and sharing customized impact data following the event

Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. requests a tax-deductible donation based on the size and scope of the experience. Your contribution helps cover the cost of serving students while also providing general operating support that allows us to continue building these workforce experiences for girls.
 

Your tax-deductible contribution helps make the full Skill BuildHER™ experience possible, including:

• We’ll identify and connect your company with a school or youth-serving organization that aligns with the students and communities you want to serve.

• We’ll create and prepare volunteer and student materials specifically for your Skill BuildHER™ experience.

• A dedicated partnership manager will guide your team through the experience.

• Your donation helps cover the Zoom platform and technology needed for virtual experiences.

• One to two event coordinators will support your experience and facilitate the event on site.

• Your donation helps provide pizza lunch for all participating students and professionals during in-person experiences.
  Following the experience, we’ll share customized student insights and impact data so your team can see the difference you helped make.
